Show of Hands are to headline a special one-off free Folk Night in London, as part of the biggest outdoor summer events programme ever seen at Canary Wharf on Wednesday, August 10.

On our latest Friday Folk Music Club we feature Karen Dalton, Matt Bauer & Dana Falconberry, Benjamin Folke Thomas, Laura Gibson, Arborea and Ivor Cutler, as well as some free tracks.

Wilco release their eighth studio album – ‘The Whole Love’ – on 26th September 2011 through their newly launched dBpm Records. ‘The Whole Love’ features 12 new original tunes and is produced by Jeff Tweedy with Patrick Sansone and Tom Schick.

David Byrne is probably best known as a founding member of Talking Heads but he has a number of other passions which span across art, literature and the bike! Bicycle Diaries chronicles David’s observations and insights — what he is seeing, whom he is meeting, what he is thinking about — as he pedals through and engages with some of the world’s major cities.

Brixton born Will Varley has been bubbling under the surface of the British folk scene since his teens playing in Kingston as a solo artist and as a member with various bands. His debut recording Advert Soundtracks, was recently released on Smugglers Records.

Neverest Songs is the work of Margate based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Luke Twyman who has released a new single this week titled Paper Trumpets. He took some time out to also record an exclusive session for Folk Radio UK. Listen Now.

Great Wilderness are fairly new 5-piece band to arrive on the Portland folk scene but their six song EP, Rest, which was released back in March will stand them out from the crowd. It’s filled with serendipitous moments that will move and capture many!

Greylag are the brainchild of Andrew Stonestreet and Daniel Dixon who first began collaborating from afar, after a chance meeting in Kentucky. Eventually they both moved to Portland, Oregon and began piecing together the band, with the help of Brady Hutton Swan and Mark Robertson.

The Unthanks are taking the show, The Unthanks Explore the Music of Robert Wyatt / Antony & The Johnsons, on the road in December, to mark the release of a live album, captured last December at the Union Chapel.
