It’s that time again for another Monday Morning Brew Playlist; this latest offering leans heavily toward new releases we’ve been writing about recently. Amongst the shiny new offerings are a reissue on Soundway of Rolan Brival’s ‘Créole Gypsy’ – “A seminal piece in the jigsaw puzzle of Caribbean music. Recorded in Martinique in 1980, Roland Brival’s visionary fusion of spiritual Caribbean jazz, poetry and ‘Creole Gypsy’ consciousness flows through Rhodes, saxophone and traditional percussion.”
The only other revisit in the list is Kim Deal’s 2024 4AD solo release, Nobody Loves You More. The Pixies original bassist and co-vocalist made a big impression with this release, and I urge you to spend some time with this wide-ranging album. This is one album I regret not covering in 2024 – but that’s the beauty of these playlists, it’s a chance to wander further and explore gems like this.
