Canadian indie-folk standout Cat Clyde has officially announced her fourth full-length studio album, Mud Blood Bone, set for release on March 13 via Concord Records. Marking her debut with the label, the project represents a significant evolution for the artist, blending the rockabilly grit of contemporaries like Sierra Ferrell with the vulnerable, folk-rock volatility of Big Thief. Produced by Drew Vandenberg (Toro Y Moi, Faye Webster) and featuring a co-write with Courtney Marie Andrews, the record is described as a “cleansing” journey through personal discovery and despair.
To coincide with the announcement, Clyde shared the lead single “Another Time” today. The track explores the non-linear nature of memory and the bittersweet reality of constant change. Clyde notes that the song reflects her power to shift into new realities and “different selves,” capturing the grief and joy of constant evolution. This theme of cyclicality is deeply rooted in her Métis heritage and a reverence for the natural world, which she leaned into while writing the album in unconventional spaces—from her 1973 Boler trailer in Ontario to a narrowboat in England.
Tracing her musical lineage back to her grandfather’s fiddle playing in North Ontario and a teenage obsession with the blues of Lead Belly, Clyde’s latest work exudes a “nomadic independence.” To support the release, she will embark on an extensive North American tour throughout April and May 2026, featuring support from recent collaborator Boy Golden.
