It has been ten years since Ty Segall unleashed the unsettling baby-masked chaos of Emotional Mugger. To celebrate that decade of distortion, a blistering new archival EP, “LIVE” “AT” “THE” “BBC”, is set to drop on January 30, 2026, via Drag City.
Captured fifty shows into their 2016 tour during a BBC Session for Marc Riley, this release documents the sheer force of “The Muggers”—a garage-rock supergroup featuring Mikal Cronin, King Tuff (Kyle Thomas), Emmett Kelly, and Wand’s Cory Hanson and Evan Burrows.
Unlike his usual multi-instrumental approach, Segall personally sticks strictly to vocals here, channelling a frantic energy while the band tears through a nineteen-minute set. The EP features four tracks from Emotional Mugger and closes with a chaotic, deconstructed cover of The Doors’ “L.A. Woman.”
“Candy Sam” (Live) is available to stream today. The physical vinyl arrives with music on Side A and a custom etching of the infamous baby mask on Side B.
Ty Segall will also return to the road next spring for an extensive tour across the US, Australia, and New Zealand.
