Acclaimed Texas-born songwriter Jana Horn has unveiled “All in Bet,” the introspective second single from her forthcoming self-titled third album, set for release on January 16, 2026, via No Quarter.
Written during Horn’s first year living in New York City following a creative writing MFA, the track finds clarity in the haze of a dive bar. Inspired by a night at the Double Down Saloon, Horn describes the song as a pivot from confusion to faith.
“I wrote this song the morning after a night at a dive called the Double Down Saloon with a good friend. Maybe they thought it was funny to take a Texan there. It was also very cheap. I was in a bit of a rut, and being there with them was just easy. I could tell it was working on me, reminding me that ‘with a friend I am not / on the edge, overlooking all I’ve got.’ It’s one of those songs that’s taught me something through the process of writing it. I started in a place of ‘don’t know what I’m thinking’ and ended in a place of trust, an all in bet on life. I didn’t know it was going to go there. I think I was coming to terms with the fact that living required an element of faith, of putting everything down, even if it felt like a bluff.”
While the songs took shape in Brooklyn, Horn returned to the desert to record at Texas’s legendary Sonic Ranch. Accompanied by drummer Adam Jones, bassist Jade Guterman, and Adelyn Strei on flute and clarinet. Horn and her band embrace a “broken-down, elemental sound” where silence speaks as loudly as the music.
This release follows the spectral first single, “Go on, move your body.”
