Cat Power is marking the 20th anniversary of her seminal 2006 album, The Greatest, with a special Redux EP and an extensive world tour. The three-song Redux EP, set for release on January 23, 2026, via Domino Recording Company, reunites Chan Marshall with her formidable all-star touring band, Dirty Delta Blues.

This powerhouse lineup—featuring guitarist Judah Bauer (The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion), keyboardist Gregg Foreman, bassist Erik Paparozzi, and drummer Jim White, who has just released his second solo album Inner Day (reviewed here)—backed Marshall at Austin’s Church House Studios. The EP’s lead single, a newly completed recording of James Brown’s classic “Try Me,” is available now. This track has deep roots, originating from the initial The Greatest sessions but remaining unfinished until this year.
Redux also includes a poignant rendition of Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U,” recorded as a tribute to the late Teenie Hodges, the legendary Memphis Rhythm Band guitarist who played on the original album. The EP is completed by a new version of The Greatest standout, “Could We,” re-imagined with the band’s live tour arrangement.
In 2026, Cat Power will perform the iconic album in its entirety on The Greatest 20th Anniversary Tour. Following a North American run starting in February, the tour will reach the UK in November 2026. Dates include Bristol Beacon (Nov 2), London’s Roundhouse (Nov 3), Manchester’s Albert Hall (Nov 4), and Glasgow’s Barrowland (Nov 5), and ending in Ireland at Dublin’s Vicar Street (Nov 7).
Redux is available to pre-order on limited edition 10” vinyl with a mirrorboard jacket and digitally. Pre-order: DomMart | Digital
