Acclaimed folk singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Dani Larkin delivers a powerful double A-side today (October 29) via Wipe Out Music, showcasing her deep connection to heritage and personal artistry. The release pairs the original track ‘Morning’ with a haunting cover of the traditional Irish folk song ‘She Moved Through The Fair’.
This new music builds anticipation for her new album, Next Of Kin, set for release on January 30th, 2026, which was announced last month alongside lead single ‘End Of It All’, also included below:
‘Morning’ is a significant inclusion, serving as the upcoming album’s opening track. An arrangement of Eleanor Farjeon’s 1931 hymn “Morning Has Broken,” Larkin utilises it as a “nod to the mystery of where we come from and who we are.”
The cover of ‘She Moved Through The Fair’ is steeped in personal history. “This is a song that my mother used to sing,” Larkin explains. Rediscovering it while reviewing Margaret Barry’s work, her version gently nods to the Irish keening tradition. The track is paired with a video by multi-award-winning Irish/Netherlands-based circus artist Christopher McAuley. Larkin says, “I was so completely blown away by how his work fitted within the narrative of the song and captured so beautifully the aspects of queer form, lament, death and marriage.”
The recording uniquely incorporates a field recording Larkin made in Nablus, Palestine, in 2016. The result, she says, “is as relevant as it is haunting.”
Larkin has also announced an extensive IE & UK tour, with tickets available now.
