Even Tidal let me down on a 2006 debut album from White Magic – the songwriting and vocal project of Mira Billotte, who collaborates with a rotating cast of talented musicians, including ‘Sleepy’ Doug Shaw, Jim White (of Dirty Three), Tim DeWit (of Gang Gang Dance), Tim Barnes, Samara Lubelski, Shahzad Ismaily, and Jesse Lee. Their Drag City debut album, Dat Rosa Mel Apibus, translated as “The Rose gives Honey to the Bees.” Here’s an old tour video of them from 2007 performing The Light.
