Last month, following their 2012 album Urstan, two of Scotland’s favourite folk musicians, Màiri Morrison and Alasdair Roberts, reunited for Remembered in Exile, a collection of newly crafted arrangements of traditional Scottish songs pulled from the pioneering work of folklorist Helen Creighton (1899-1989). They were joined by Pete Johnston and his Canadian all-star band, and the collaboration resulted in, as KLOF Mag’s Thomas Blake described, a beautiful, glimmering album.
Next month, Màiri, Alasdair and Pete will hit the road for a run of very special and intimate shows (see dates below). To celebrate this news, they have shared an all-new acoustic version of “The Bonny House of Airlie”, a nice contrast to the album’s electric guitar-led version. The video is by Harrison Reid.
