Perpetual Doom has announced a new compilation, “Best Of Generifus,” set for release on September 19th. The album is a career-spanning collection from the project of Washington State’s Spencer Sult, offering a perfect entry point for new listeners and a curated journey for longtime fans.
For two decades, Sult has been a quiet but persistent force in the Pacific Northwest DIY scene. His work, often recorded in bedrooms and basements with a rotating cast of collaborators, has the intimacy and warmth of a well-worn field journal. This compilation gathers 15 songs, showcasing Sult’s gift for crafting melodies that feel both precise and effortlessly natural.
From the gentle, nostalgic ache of “I Know” (from 2010) to the more recent, radiant tracks from 2023’s Rearrangel, the record highlights the evolution of a songwriter who consistently prioritises emotional clarity and craftsmanship.
Available on a limited-edition cassette, Best Of Generifus is a beautifully distilled tribute to an enduring voice in indie music—a gentle monument to staying true while moving forward.
