It feels like it’s been a long wait since the first singles from this album dropped, but release day is now upon us as Arts & Crafts release Georgia Harmer‘s sophomore album, Eye of the Storm. The album delves deeper than her introspective 2022 debut, exploring relationships and self-awareness…”seeking to answer questions of what to carry, what to leave behind, and what to follow forward.”
The album’s title track, Eye of the Storm, sets the tone with its soft and intimate melody—a poignant rumination on the quiet toll of holding space for someone else’s pain. It’s a beautifully raw and vulnerable piece that, like the rest of the album, was self-produced by Harmer. The songs were recorded live in comfortable, familiar settings—from living rooms to backyard garages—allowing for a stripped-down sound that captures every creak of a chair and subtle echo. This creates an atmosphere of genuine intimacy, as if the listener is a trusted confidante in the room where the music was made.
The singles we’ve already heard—the serene “Can We Be Still” (featured in: Monday Morning Brew #89), the tender “Little Light,” and the introspective “Take it On”—now settle perfectly into the album’s sweeping narrative. As a North American tour begins on October 30, Georgia Harmer is poised to unveil this deeply intimate and carefully honed work.
