Montreal duo The Barr Brothers have unveiled “Run Right Into It,” a propulsive new track featuring the vocal talents of fellow Montrealer Elizabeth Powell (Land of Talk). The single is the second offering from their long-awaited fourth studio album, Let It Hiss, due out on October 17th via Secret City Records (read more here).
After an eight-year hiatus, the brothers return with a sound buzzing with kinetic energy. “Run Right Into It” is an ode to the power of change, inspired by the tight vocal harmonies of groups like The Raveonettes. Brad Barr and Powell’s voices unite over a driving rhythm, building to a joyous and wild resolution.
The band poetically describes the song as “the musical equivalent of a ‘74 Camaro in a high speed police chase barrelling towards the Great Wall of China.” It’s a powerful taste of the forthcoming album, showcasing a renewed and vital energy from the duo.
