Acclaimed Scottish singer-songwriter James Yorkston has released his brand new single, “Oh Light, Oh Light”, featuring a stunning guest vocal from Johanna Söderberg of First Aid Kit and some beautiful 5-string fiddle from Ullis Gyllenberg.
“Oh Light, Oh Light” is the third single taken from Yorkston’s forthcoming album, Songs for Nina and Johanna, his sixteenth on Domino Records, scheduled for release on August 22nd. The record is his third collaboration with members of Stockholm’s The Second Hand Orchestra and sees him joined by two of Sweden’s most recognisable voices: Söderberg and Nina Persson of The Cardigans.

Recorded live, the album is a heartfelt meditation on family and parenthood, filled with gentle melodies and poignant lyricism. “Who wouldn’t embrace the chance to sing with two great Swedish voices?” says Yorkston. “Nina and Johanna, they complement, yet never compete.”
With contributions from Peter Morén (Peter Bjorn and John) and others, the album is described as one of Yorkston’s most vital and life-affirming works to date. It will be available on CD, digital, and vinyl, including a limited Dinked LP with a bonus CD.
