Cairo’s experimental trio, The Dwarfs Of East Agouza, have officially joined Constellation Records for their anticipated new album, Sasquatch Landslide, set for an early October release. Comprising Maurice Louca, Alan Bishop, and Sam Shalabi, the group continues to expand their unique blend of North African rhythms, free jazz, and psychedelic grooves, building on acclaimed works from Sub Rosa, Akuphone, and Nawa Recordings.
Sasquatch Landslide promises to overspill with the band’s signature trance-inducing explorative energies. Louca’s hypnotic beats and electronics anchor the sound, while Shalabi and Bishop deploy guitar and alto saxophone in a variety of signal-mashing modes. This 42-minute journey across seven febrile jams marks what could be their most focused yet “twitchiest” album to date.
Their new single, “Neptune Anteater,” offers a captivating preview. It kicks off with Shalabi’s skittish, oud-infused guitar riff, while Louca gradually builds a widescreen 6/8 hand-drum rhythm. Oozing bass notes support Shalabi’s excursions around the central riff, creating a truly kinetic trance, East Agouza-style.
Recorded by Emanuele Baratto and mixed by Jace Lasek, the album will be available on 180-gram vinyl and CD, featuring striking artwork by Mark Sullo. Get ready for a wildly unhinged reverie with Sasquatch Landslide.
Sasquatch Landslide is out on October 3rd, 2025
