Released today, Nadia Reid‘s standalone single ‘Moment By‘ offers a captivating glimpse into the New Zealander’s songwriting process. Landing ahead of her highly anticipated Glastonbury Festival appearance this Friday, June 27th at 12 noon on the Acoustic Stage, the track follows her acclaimed fourth album, ‘Enter Now Brightness,’ released in February (Reviewed here).
‘Moment By’ was conceived during the pandemic, born from strolls through Dunedin’s Chingford Park (New Zealand), reflecting on childhood and a world in flux. Reid reveals it was the first time she sang without her guitar, imbuing the song with a raw power that she jokingly terms her “Adele moment.” A profound rumination on the past, present, and future, ‘Moment By’ beautifully encapsulates nostalgia in song form, proving that even “a bit of a rut” can blossom into an entire album’s worth of evocative material.
