Last month, we shared news of All Smiles Tonight, the debut album from Poor Creature, featuring Ruth Clinton of Landless, Cormac MacDiarmada of Lankum and John Dermody of The Jimmy Cake.
Following their first single and video, The Whole Town Knows, today marks the release of their new single, Adieu Lovely Erin, accompanied by an animated music video.
“This song tells the true story of William Hill, a forger from Belfast who was transported to Australia in 1826,” explain the band, “The video, animated by Ruth, visits some iconic Irish landscapes as well as a few of the band’s former Dublin haunts.”
They have also revealed additional upcoming tour dates (details below).
Produced by John ‘Spud’ Murphy, ‘All Smiles Tonight’ will be released on 11th July, 2025, via Rough Trade’s sister label River Lea Records. The album will be available on CD, standard black vinyl LP and a special independent record shops DINKED edition neon yellow vinyl LP with lyric booklet and signed print.

Poor Creature play an instore at Rough Trade East in London on July 14th with further tour dates revealed, full details are below. The band also play Supersonic Festival on Aug 31st and Subtereanean Festival at the Royal Festival Hall, London on Sept 20th, supporting Lisa O’Neill.
