Escape to another KLOF Mag mixtape featuring new tracks from Marc Ribot, Hayden Pedigo, Logan Farmer, Cian Nugent & The Cosmos, and Fuubutsushi – an ambient-jazz quartet that began as a remote collaboration during lockdown between four prolific, far-flung multi-instrumentalists: Patrick Shiroishi (The Armed, Wild Up), Chris Jusell (Rosalía, Lizzo, Silk Sonic), Chaz Prymek (Lake Mary), and Matthew Sage (Shabason, Krgovich, Sage).
There is a Middle Eastern track titled Yazidi by Sahn that I included – I’m currently reading Elif Shafak’s ‘There Are Rivers in the Sky‘ (which includes the story of Narin, a Yazidi girl, and her grandmother’s journey through war-torn lands). There are also live offerings courtesy of Ferran Orriols, Eli Winter and Cameron Knowler, and Adrianne Lenker; plus tracks from Gwenifer Raymond and Kevin Barker, taken from Treasures Untold: A Modern 78 RPM Reader, a Record Store Day compilation Boxset from Tompkins Square (now available on Bandcamp).
“This is how deep dive historical explorations of music you might have missed should be done: rich in detail and captivating. This is for people who love music by people who love music. Perfectly concepted and exquisitely delivered.”
