Japanese musician and songwriter Satomimagae has shared the third and final single from her forthcoming new album Taba (out this Friday, 25th April). Unlike the previous two singles Many and Omajinai, Tonbo (Japanese for dragonfly) is faster paced:
Satomi storyboards as follows: “Dragonflies flying on the road at dusk. Lights from houses. Tension. Something is about to happen. Everyone keeps on living their lives. That invisible boundary between worlds that seem to be completely different but exist right next to each other.”
“Tonbo” is accompanied by another video by Satomi’s longtime collaborator Norio. On the video, Norio notes, “In the fragmented projected perspectives that people create, they themselves flicker in and out. As I looked at what she was seeing, I created new memories externally.”
Satomimagae’s Taba will be released on vinyl, Japanese import CD (via Plancha), and digital editions on April 25, 2025.
