We have the pleasure of sharing a brooding live video of Bridget Hayden & The Apparitions (Sam Mcloughlin and Dan Bridgewood-Hill of dbh) performing When I Was In My Prime at Todmorden Unitarian Church.
They have several dates coming up (see below), including a set at the very same church as part of Down Off The Tops: A Basin Rock Creation, an all-dayer put on by Basin Rock (whose roster have featured many times on KLOF Mag) in their hometown of Todmorden on June 14th, also on the bill are Jim Ghedi, Juni Habel, Duncan Marquiss and Kevin Fowley.

When I Was In My Prime features on Bridget’s latest album Cold Blows the Rain. KLOF Mag’s Gareth Thompson, who reviewed the album, described the song as botany meets chastity, noting how it maintained the lost and wintry Eden vibe and brooding watchfulness of the album.
He concluded that album review with a literary quote:
“Wind. Cold. A permanent weight to be braced under. And rain.” This was Ted Hughes on the Calder Valley back in 1979, a place once thought an uninhabitable wilderness. Hayden is now among those who prove that unique environmental factors can shape an artist’s character.
