This week saw the release of “Lo que sueña de noche“, the new single from Spanish artist Alba Haro. It breaks down the score of Zorongo Gitano by Federico García Lorca, using different voices as a lure to create two perspectives through popular lyrics, dreams and reality.
Born in Barcelona (1984) with roots in Andalusia (Spain), Alba Haro’s life has been steeped in musical creation since the age of 5. She later moved to the Higher School of Music of Catalonia, where she specialised in cello, classical and Contemporary music, and Jazz Vocals. A few years ago, she was awarded a scholarship by the Berklee College of Music. She is currently touring around the world with the singer Vanesa Martin and also with her group “Playeras”, where they play original music with a flamenco dancer.
Watch the accompanying video (by Reinhard Mayr) to Lo que sueña de noche below. Its refined and dreamlike qualities also highlight her evolved and inventive relationship with the cello.
Lo que sueña de noche is out now on Microscopi.
