Since the release of their fourth album, False Lankum, Lankum seem to have been riding a wave on the back of the album’s success and critical acclaim; described in these pages as their most uncompromising album to date, which highlights their highly individual approach to music-making: a discourse between band and listener that is challenging, raw, brutally honest and always rewarding.
As well as being nominated for ‘Album of the Year’ in last year’s Mercury Music Prize, Lankum recently announced their biggest indoor gig to date at London’s Eventim Apollo in October. Rough Trade Records is excited to announce the release of ‘Live in Dublin’ (21st June), recorded across three sold-out nights at Dublin’s Vicar Street. The album features Lankum performing songs from across their catalogue, including ‘The Rocky Road to Dublin’, which has never been officially released until now. The song has been covered by many over the years, including The Dubliners, Christy Moore, and the Rolling Stones and it’s also recited several times in James Joyce’s experimental novel Ulysses.

Now available as an expanded digital album with three extra tracks. The vinyl edition of ‘Live in Dublin’ will be released on both black and limited gold coloured vinyl.
Lankum play ‘False Lankum’ in its entirety at Hackney Empire on May 18th and 19th and Hammersmith Apollo on Oct 26th as well as numerous festivals around the UK and Europe this summer. Full tour dates are listed below.
