‘Cease Silence’ is a compilation of artists from across the globe raising their voices against the unfolding Genocide in Gaza and in support of the Palestinian people. All profits from this digital-only release are being donated directly to Médecins Sans Frontières and the Palestinian Red Crescent, supporting those on the ground who need it most.
Shocked not only by the events in Gaza, but also the extensive silence amongst those with platforms to be heard, this project is more than just a musical endeavour, it is a collective outcry.
Featuring the contributions of 48 artists from more than a dozen countries worldwide, the album’s 4 hours span an eclectic mix of electronics, folk, jazz, drone, hip-hop, field recordings, sound art and song – all united across a diverse range of faiths, genders and backgrounds in this act of protest.
Readers of KLOF Mag will be familiar with many of the names, including LUNATRAKTORS, The Owl Service, Burd Ellen, You Are Wolf, Eric Chenaux, Rev Simpkins & Jim Simpkins, Cath & Phil Tyler, Lost Harbours, Landless, Dead Rat Orchestra, C Joynes, Sutari and more.
The Dead Rat Orchestra, who organised the album, shared the following:
“When faced with the ongoing Genocide in Gaza, silence is not an option. ‘Cease Silence’ is our way of standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people, encouraging our community and audiences not only to donate, but to speak out and act! We invite listeners to join us in this crucial act of support and awareness.”
