BASIC are a trio who have been working together for the last year or two, featuring Philadelphia-based guitarists Chris Forsyth, Nick Millevoi (Desertion Trio, Grassy Sound) on baritone guitar & drum machine and Mikel Patrick Avery (Natural Information Society) on percussion & electronics.
Chris has shared that they are just finishing up on their first studio recordings. They’ve recently supported White Denim on a few shows, but in case you’ve not seen them, here’s a recording from last year at Union Transfer in Philadelphia, PA.
Solar Motel Expanded Edition
In case you missed it, Chris Forsyth released an extended edition of Solar Motel (2013) in December that features two studio outtakes from the original sessions and a live session recorded at WFMU by the then-brand-new Solar Motel Band.
