Singing duo Ben & Dom have joined forces with folk singer Anna Tabbush for a haunting rendition of ‘Winter Song’, based on an old Swedish psalm, which evokes the cold and darkness of the season. The single will be released on all digital music platforms on 6th December by Scribe Records. Watch them performing the song in Guildford’s oldest church St Mary’s, which dates back to 1040AD.
They shared the following on the song and collaboration:
Anna Tabbush:
“Winter Song is about the things we do to survive the cold and darkness of winter: lighting fires, gathering friends around us and having faith that spring will come.”
Ben & Dom:
“We love Anna’s music and regularly sing a few of her songs in our set. It is such a joy to be able to join her on this song and sing as a trio. We are really excited about the idea of doing more stuff together and seeing where else this collaboration might take us. We’re also looking forward to doing some shows as a trio in the Spring – dates to be announced very soon.
“We know Anna Tabbush through our work as choir leaders and through the community singing world. She’s a wonderful composer, singer and choir leader, and we always enjoy working with her and learning from her.
“Anna has also recorded one of our own original songs with us, Heading Home, which will be out next year. We’re really grateful to her for lending her voice to this song, and we’re very excited to share it with everyone next year. The song also features a 50-voice choir in the background!”
