Jim Ghedi and Toby Hay have today shared a video of them performing ‘Bright Edge Deep.’ Recorded live in Sheffield, the track feature on their latest self-titled album released on Topic Records.
The track was also the album’s lead single. As Glenn Kimpton said in his album review: Both players’ styles are all over this song; Jim’s sturdy thumbed bass string, a technique more prominent on his debut solo album Home is Where I Exist, Now to Live and Die and reminiscent of players like Daniel Bachman, underpins the tune, while Toby’s shimmering high twelve string runs add depth.
Jim previously shared: “‘Bright Edge Deep’ was taken from a Seamus Heaney poem ‘Digging’ and was the first track we wrote on this album, following a near two-year break from playing together due to the pandemic.”
Jim Ghedi & Toby Hay (CD/Vinyl/digital) is out now on Topic Records.
