Today marks the release of Arny Margret‘s seasonal new single ‘Spring’, on which she is joined by fellow Icelandic singer-songwriter Júníus Meyvant. Together these two deliver an incredibly soothing yet delicate heart-rending offering on which the hallmarks of the season – gently opening flower petals and dewy mornings, are set against a song of broken love.
Meyvant tells us that “the song is written as a conversation between two human beings in a numb state mentally and physically in their relationship but still they have burning love for each other in a different way and want to work it out. This is my first collaboration with an artist in my own musical writing. The collaboration couldn’t have gone smoother in my opinion. Arny Margret has a unique feel and beautiful tone in her voice and music and is full of life as a person. I am very happy our voices were drift compatible on this track. And I doubt this will be our last collaboration”.
Arny responded, “I loved doing this collaboration with Júníus Meyvant; I’ve loved his music for years, so this was kind of a dream come true for me. I’m so very happy with the outcome, and I hope people will love it too”.
Spring is also our Song of the Day. It is out now via One Little Independent Records
