The Portable Herman Düne Vol. 2 is the latest episode in a three-part acoustic anthology celebrating David Ivar’s prolific 22 years of songwriting. Stripped back and intimate, the songs take centre stage, supported by his 1954 guitar, his 1930s mandolin, and his voice – as well as several special guests, including Mayon Hanania (Ivar’s life partner), who features on Undiscarded Jacaranda, the video for which, we premiered here.
As it’s the weekend and the sun is out, I feel a double helping is in order. So here are two new videos for songs from the excellent The Portable Herman Düne Vol. 2.
First off, we have This Will Never Happen. The video includes Tour Footage by Arnaud Fournier and camera work by David Ivar!
And that classic of classics…My Way. In his words, “After Claude François, Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, Sid Vicious and Elvis Presley, what about a stripped-bare acoustic version by your favourite friendly neighbourhood Herman Dune???” Delivered, of course, in his own unique style; the video was directed by Mayon.
The album is available on Digital/CD/Black and Limited Edition Orange Vinyl from all good record shops, as well as: Bandcamp or direct from Santa Cruz Records (N. America) and BB*Island (Europe).
