Glasgow-based Turkish musician Isik Kural began making music in his teens on nylon string guitar before adding the field recordings and synthesizers that helped to define his musical path. The track lo si aspetta first appeared on his 2022 album ‘in february’, on which his work was likened like to ‘a photographer of sound, documenting the passing and returning of time as if material snapshots of life’s temporality’.
This month, the track is revisited on his peaches EP…
…in the instance of “lo si aspetta” taken from, the twelve passages that formed in february, peaches removes Isik’s unmistakable vocals, prominent on the album, for a fluid reflection of the impressionistic world that the artist inhabits and creates. The four pieces of peaches offer an invitation to revisit a sunrise from a past time well-lived, or imagine the sunset of a future memory.
To mark the release of peaches, this live version was recorded and the accompanying video, which was shot in Amasya, Turkey, lends weight to that sense of time and the idea of Isik being a photographer of sound.
