The Little Unsaid announces Live At The Pound (+ February Tour Dates)

The Little Unsaid is to release a new 15-track live album titled Live At The Pound. Available on Bandcamp only (3 February), the album was recorded at Pound Arts in Corsham at the end of a difficult 2022 tour:

“The tour was fraught with Covid cancellations, and the band barely made it in one piece to the last gig at Pound Arts in Corsham. Facing losses from so many cancelled shows, they decided to return to Pound Arts the day after their final show and record a live set in an empty theatre to share with their audience online.”

The following two videos are from that show. Despite the uncertainty and feelings that must have been weighing heavily upon their shoulders, they put on an incredible performance…”in all its tour-battered, defiantly electrified glory.”

Milltown featured on their 2019 Music/Nature EP, and when sharing the video, John Elliott shared, “Thinking of my frosty homeland today, which this song is all about.”

Big Red is from last year’s Fable (reviewed here). In his review opening, Thomas Blake comments, “If the band dynamic appears familiar, the results are anything but. Elliott’s singing has a little of Thom Yorke about it, while his lyrical preoccupations often touch on mental illness, loss, redemption and man’s place in the world. But there is always an underlying melodicism – he’s like a downbeat Paul McCartney or Nick Cave with a penchant for synth-folk.” Later, talking of Big Red, he adds, “There is an icy funk to a song like Big Red that acts as a perfect backdrop to the outpouring that follows; taken together, it can only be the work of a musician with a keen melodic sensibility as well as a knack for drama.”
