Your Heart Wants To Go / Living Without You is the new single from Irish singer-songwriter Bróna McVittie, due for release today (2nd September 2022). The tracks are taken from Bróna’s forthcoming third album, The Woman in the Moon, out on 2nd October 2022. This will follow her acclaimed albums We Are the Wildlife (January 2018) and The Man in the Mountain (September 2020).
Bróna has steadily built a reputation for her lush electronic folk orchestrations, and these songs showcase contrasting production styles, from the intimate finger-picking and hushed vocal of Your Heart Wants to Go to the swirling synthesisers and soaring vocals on Living Without You. The former is a love song served on a stripped-back bed of muted synth, guitar and subtle drums. In contrast, the latter features slow oscillation synthesisers set against an inventive, infectious Brazilian drum rhythm created by the masterful Marius Rodrigues.
…she never loses the wide-eyed sense of wonder at the poetry of the natural world. If she set out to reflect that beauty and that wonder in music, she has succeeded admirably.
