Last month, we shared a video for Rory Butler‘s pandemic-themed Lynda’s Café that was recently played on Mark Radcliffe’s Folk Show on BBC Radio 2. Mark was clearly enthused, saying: “There are lots of Singer songwriters but this guy’s something special, which solos him out.“ We couldn’t agree more, and we have another musical delight to share from Rory today.
Leave It Out live is the final single to be released from Rory’s new EP Carefree, released tomorrow (15th July) via Leafy Outlook (Josef Salvat, Roo Panes, M Field). The video was filmed at Hoxa Studios and features just him and his guitar, so we get to experience his fine acoustic skills alongside those warm vocals that have a lovely modern-classic vibe to them. While he made quite a splash with his debut album “Window Shopping”, I feel this new EP marks a progressive leap forward from an artist that has continued to nurture and develop his sound. A bright future awaits.
The EP is produced by Matt Ingram (The Staves, Lianne La Havas) with tracks mixed by Patrick Dillet (Fleet Foxes, Rosie Carney). Pre-Order/Save: https://bfan.link/carefreeEP
