Bristol Americana Folk singer Lady Nade heads out on her “Willing” Tour in October. Having just played Glastonbury she also has a spate of upcoming summer festival appearances including Latitude Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival and Shrewsbury Folk Festival. She will also be supporting Alison Russell on 24th August at Omeara London.
Lady Nade released ‘Willing‘ in June 2021 in follow-up to her 2019 album Safe Place. In the words of Bob Fish, Lady Nade’s “Willing, is a pretty special album, one from a woman in Bristol who sings beautifully and has a band that understands exactly what she needs and is able to give it to her despite recording in isolation from locations across the UK.”
Once heard, you never forget, but for any newcomers out there, here’s the video to her moving title track, Willing, on which Bob enthused: “The opening notes of “Willing” work so well that style is secondary. Emotion is everything as Nade relates, “I will stand by you willingly/ I will comfort you willingly.” Isn’t that what everyone is looking for? That the opening guitar notes are almost jazz is secondary. By the time the slide comes in, you simply have to go along for the ride…”
On the tour, she will be joined by special guest Simeon Hammond Dallas who hails from London’s Camden Town. Like Lady Nade, her music crosses genres, including folk, country, blues, and soul, with an emphasis on narrative. Here’s her latest video, Make It Romantic:
