Charm of Finches are a Melbourne, Australia-based sister indie-folk duo featuring Mabel and Ivy Windred-Wornes. Their music is described as haunted folk tunes about love, grief and whispering trees, but it’s their signature tight sibling harmonies and chamber-folk sound that make them such an unforgettable duo.

“This was the last song that we wrote on the album and we wrote it about growing up and losing the carefree innocence of childhood. We were thinking about how beautiful everything seemed when we were children; the belief in magic, the absolute mystery and wonder of nature and the inner world that can be so vividly conjured by the imagination.This song expresses the mourning of this wonder, fading as we grow older.”
The ethereal beauty of their vocals really soars on “As a Child”, a quality heightened by the sparse and plaintive ambient arrangement.
