Ahead of its release this Friday, we have the pleasure of sharing the new video from Cork Singer-Songwriter Sarah Buckley for her new single ‘Full Moon’; the follow up to her widely acclaimed debut single ‘You’ve Got Me’.
Working with producer Karl Odlum (Damien Rice, Glen Hansard) ‘Full Moon‘ is enveloped in a deep noirish atmosphere, a dark melancholic edge reflecting the confusion and uncertainty of a new romantic relationship. The haunting but subtle organ accentuates the nervous energy swirling beneath the surface, overlaid with Buckley’s dreamy delivery that is enticingly quirky and original. You can see why her debut single caused such a stir, she has such an original voice. Definitely, a name to watch for.
Speaking about the writing of Full Moon Sarah said: “I tried writing it a long while ago but picked it back up in lockdown to finish and record when I was looking for inspiration and a character to climb back into. The lyrics and musics’ mood look to capture the feelings that can occur at the beginning of a new romantic relationship when it’s still stressful and unclear if it will be reciprocated in the end.”
Accompanied by a beautiful black and white video of gig shots and old movies edited together by Karl Cahill, Full Moon is set for release on July 14th 2021.
