Tomorrow sees the release of ‘Aftersun’, the new single from Henry Taylour. Working with acclaimed producer Josh Tyrrell (Seal, Van Morrison, James Morrison, Lana Del Rey), Aftersun finds Taylour exploring a more developed fuller sound on this exceptional release.
The track opens to a circular finger-picked melody, highlighting Taylour’s nuanced vocals before gradually adding layers of strings then percussion. That neither detracts from the ambience and melancholy feel of the song is undoubtedly a testament to Taylour’s decision to have Josh Tyrrell on production. Where the sound expands, it allows the piece to blossom. Still, it’s subtle enough to allow a stillness to permeate that’s both delicate and moving, adding to the beautiful narrative of the song and tieing in perfectly to the distance, time and space he touches on below:
“This is a song that is about distance, time, and how that space can allow us to move forward. There comes a point when all things cool and get better, and this song is about both looking forward, whilst also reflecting on how far you’ve come.”
Henry Taylour has live shows planned for the summer including St Pancras Old Church, London, 15th July, Henry Taylour new single ‘Aftersun’ is released June 18th.
