MOLOSSER are a Swedish duo comprised of Tess and Jahn. They met in Gothenburg, Sweden’s second-largest city before escaping to the country where they now live on a small farm in the province of Småland. Upon listening to their single ‘Unsolid’ below, it’s hard to believe that they come from a background of loud and noisy music.
When playing together they make use of down-tuned guitars to create the bass but even on this track which features percussion, you can still appreciate the minimalistic lines where less is more with the space between those notes accentuating the rural and vibrant folkloric edge to their music. Their change in lifestyle seems imprinted upon their music and when listening it’s not difficult to imagine them settled at the edge of a deep forest. With Tess’s vocals reminiscent of Beth Gibbons, Unsolid makes for an enchanting offering with a beautiful mid-section that has a lovely jazzy Pentangle vibe to it.
Unsolid is taken from their forthcoming debut album
