EVVAN, a Long Island, NY native, is an alternative-folk singer-songwriter formerly known as Evan Petruzzi. Below, you can hear “Home,” the title track to EVVAN‘s forthcoming EP, produced by members of the band Milo Greene (who also appear on the record).
There is a lovely calm and warmth to EVVAN’s vocal’s on Home, a feeling that’s emphasised by the gentle melodies, lap steel and soft percussion. The song washes over you, a reflection of that warmth EVVAN sings of and “coming in from the cold.” Home is an honest and heartwarming offering that we can all relate to.
EVVAN tells us:
Home is about comfort. It’s about the little things in your life that make you feel safe. This song is a reminder to stop and allow yourself to be in the moment, to take stock of what makes you happy and what makes you think of home. It’s for those who like to sit and chill with a mug of coffee or tea in the morning, watching the sun rise over the mountains, a song that plays as you sit around the fire and just be with those who matter most. This song formed around the acoustic guitar and started lyrically as a poem I had written before I heard the melody. Once I created the foundation, I wanted to build a safe haven. Sean’s lap steel guitar lines were one of the unexpected yet crucial factors in helping form this delicate, ethereal song.
