A fairly eclectic show this week including featuring music from Bob Dylan & The Band, Piers Faccini, Yelli Yelli, Jenny Lysander, 75 Dollar Bill, Alasdair Roberts, Neil McDermott & Tartine de clous, Ed Askew & Joshua Burkett and Robbie Basho. Plus a great track from Don Cherry – from a 1976 recording by RAI (the Italian public broadcasting company) which documents a quartet concert focused on vocals compositions and improvisations. Here, Don Cherry and his family community’s musical belief emerges in its simplicity, with the desire to merge the knowledge and stimuli gained during numerous travels across the World in a single sound experience.
We also have a number of new music releases:
- Osayomore Joseph, as featured on the latest Analog Africa album Edo Funk Explosion Vol.1 reviewed here.
- a track from Banane Bleue, the brand new album from Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains, released last month…he seemed to fit in well here.
- a brief track from Chad VanGaalen‘s new offering World’s Most Stressed Out Gardener
- from Friend’s Peace (on VHF), the new album from Black Twig Pickers, we have the opener trad-classic Moonshiner.
