West Country-based duo Rebecca Nelson and Jacob Morrison, better known as Faeland, are no strangers to these pages with their 2018 album ‘All My Swim‘ making it into our Best of Albums of 2018. Tomorrow, marks the release of their catchy new single ‘Was’, a song inspired by an ancient Welsh poem and taken from their new album, When I Close My Eyes, due for release on 26th March 2021.
This original composition by Faeland showcases singer Rebecca’s knack for unique, catchy vocal hooks, set alongside tight rhythms and surrealist lyrics that explore “healers, queens and magicians“. Was builds to its epic finale with an expansive Celtic fiddle performance from Martin Solomon.
Faeland’s new album When I Close My Eyes was recorded by Matt Butler at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales. Was features guest musicians Antonio Moreno (drum kit and cajon) and Martin Solomon (Celtic harp and violin).
