Scottish singer and songwriter Roseanne Reid has shared a video for her new single Tentsmuir Sky, the second offering from her upcoming EP ‘Horticulture‘, set for release on April 10th, via Last Man. We reviewed her critically acclaimed debut album, Trails‘ here which was produced by Teddy Thompson and featured Americana legend, Steve Earle.
The simple and peaceful video accompanying the single was shot by Roseanne in Fife’s Tentsmuir Forest, which inspired the gorgeous song. The track, in Rosannes own words, tries to capture the magic of a place which has offered me both escape from and reconnection with the world. The Redshank and Roe deer referenced in the opening lines highlight just a fraction of the amazing variety of wildlife that inhabit the forest, at the edge of which the sea meets the sky.
Written and produced by Roseanne herself with Manic Street Preacher’s producer Dave Eringa on mixing duties the track, tries to capture the magic of a place which has offered Roseanne both escape from and reconnection with the world during and sparked her interest in horticulture.
Roseanne will support Teddy Thompson on his 12 dates tour starting at Glasgows Oran Mor on 21st January 2022, touching Londons Earth Theatre on 28th January, before ending at Manchesters Band On The Wall on 3rd February. More info here: https://serious.org.uk/events/teddy-thompson-roseanne-reid
