Back in November, we introduced our audience to Hertfordshire singer songwriter Taylor Nathan. The Devil And The Deep Sea is Taylor’s first single, one of three original songs recorded with Syd Arthur member Joel Magill at Kate Bush’s studio in Bexleyheath. Today, we have the pleasure of sharing the accompanying video which was shot in fields not far from Brighton before lockdown. The raindrops on the river are the only giveaway of the inclement weather and we’re told that the whole crew spent the day in the pouring rain under umbrellas desperately trying to keep the cameras dry (see image below).
Those that know me will know I’m a sucker for analogue film…preferring its warmth of tone and how it renders colours over digital which I still find too clean and sterile. This one really caught my eye, it’s beautifully shot and Taylor tells us that the video was shot on 8mm:
“Was a great day shooting, great work from Harvey (director) and I loved the 8mm film that it was shot on, really nice character it lends to the whole video. Happy that the song is out on the airwaves! Enjoy”
