This week’s Folk Show features new releases from: Jim Ghedi, taken from his new album ‘In the Furrows of Common Place’ reviewed here. James Yorkston and The Second Hand Orchestra‘s The Wide, Wide River; Sun June‘s latest single taken from their new album Somewhere, out February 5, 2021 via Keeled Scales and Run For Cover Records; recently premiered on Folk Radio – Northern Irish trio TRÚ‘s lead track Bonny Portmore from their forthcoming debut album ‘No Fixed Abode’ which draws inspiration from centuries of folklore in Ireland, Britain and beyond.
We also have tracks by Eamon O’Leary from The Silver Sun, Luke Jackson‘s new release Of The Time, Jon Wilks‘ new album Up The Cut, and a new single from The Magpie Arc (featuring Nancy Kerr, Martin Simpson, Adam Holmes, Tom A Wright and Alex Hunter), released to commemorate Robert Burns birthday on the 25th of January – Ae Fond Kiss (available from https://themagpiearc.com/).
