Our Song of the Day comes New Orleans-based singer, songwriter and musician Esther Rose who has just signed to Full Time Hobby. News of the signing was accompanied with a live video of her performing her latest single “Keeps Me Running” which is also our Song of the Day.
She has managed to seize some great opportunities, from opening for Nick Lowe on tour to being asked to sing on Jack White’s new album, all of which, alongside her hard work, has paid off in helping to heighten her profile. Her new single finds her working through the complicated feelings of loneliness and heartbreak, trying to break down the comforts to help her find a spiritual path forward. It has a great upbeat rootsy warmth, accentuated here by lap steel and the warm fiddle tones of Lyle Werner. The video was filmed by GemsOnVHS at Marigny Opera House in New Orleans.
