During lockdown, Chris Cleverley started his The Lockdown Gramophone Circle project, essentially a cover song a day throughout November to help keep spirits high and raise money for UK Mental Health Charity ‘Mind‘.
He has so far raised £387 and is hoping to break the £400 barrier today which I hope you can help with. For his final video he has covered a personal favourite, Sufjan Steven’s ‘Should Have Known Better’. In his own words:
I’m really pleased to release, as the final video, a cover of Sufjan Steven‘s masterpiece ‘Should Have Known Better‘ taken from his 2015 album ‘Carrie & Lowell’. This song has resonated with me so hugely throughout the pandemic this year, after my Dad, Nick, introduced me to it on one of those warm, mystical nights of the emergent Spring. It has been great getting to know all its layers and nuances in intimate detail.
unfortunately, this video is no longer available
It’s also our Song of the Day:
This has turned into a labour of love, playing every instrument, filming, editing etc. so it would be great to see him exceed that barrier he talks of.
Any final donations can be made at the project’s Just Giving page – click here
All videos will be available to watch on YouTube for one more week. They are together in a playlist – click here.
