Following the success of her widely acclaimed debut album, ‘All The Ways You Wander’, and subsequent release ‘Where the Heart is’, County Tyrone born singer and musician, Bernadette Morris is set to launch her brand new single ‘These Ruins’ in November.
This track was inspired by a trip to Budapest, where old houses have been resurrected as bars and restaurants, the ruin bars – where the remnants of the old houses still remain. A co-write with Mark McCambridge AKA Arborist, the two imagined an old house with memories and relics left untouched for many years. The song is about knocking the house down and rebuilding on the foundations of good memories and sentiments that remain from the former residents.
The song is made all the more heartfelt and moving by Bernadette Morris’ sublime vocals and Joanne Rehill‘s harmonies. The accompanying video portrays the passage of time, enhanced by its warm tones and vintage feel, beautiful video work by Paschal Cassidy (DOP), Darragh Byrne (Editor) and Scott Ferguson at Yellow Moon (Grade).
With a new album release set for late 2021, Morris has attracted collaborations a group of highly accomplished musicians and songwriters, including co-writes with Eleanor McEvoy, Johnny Brady and Ríoghnach Connolly.
