Hudson Records Listening Club – Nancy Kerr & James Fagan – Twice Reflected Sun
Sunday 23rd August – 10.30am
This week on the Hudson Records listening club we have some of our favourite fellow Sheffielders, Nancy Kerr & James Fagan, with their album ‘Twice Reflected Sun’.
Multiple BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winners, Nancy and James, the Anglo-Australian duo released ‘Twice Reflected Sun’ 10 years ago this month.
The album is a departure from some of the duos earlier material with this album mainly focusing on Nancy’s songwriting. It has roots in the soils of two wildly different landscapes, but trades on universal themes that transcend national boundaries: love, war, migration, poverty and the future of the Earth.
Join Nancy, James and producer Rob Harbron as they listen to and discuss this brilliant album, they will be online to chat about the album throughout the listening club so say hello in the comments area. You can watch the live stream on Hudson Records Youtube channel, subscribe, like and follow to receive notifications.
Here they are performing the album’s opening track Queen of Waters live at Bath Folk Festival (2013)
