Kirsty Law recently released a new EP titled ‘When We’re No Sleepin’. “The EP responds to the needs and emotions in the months of the COVID19 lockdown, and as such, these songs have the essence of lullabies.” The single for the EP is ‘Lullaby For Troubled Times’ which is accompanied by a mesmerising video by Kirsty’s mother and visual artist Pat Law.
‘Lullaby For Troubled Times’ – the video for which is a collaboration with my mother, visual artist Pat Law. Both of us throughout this time have felt the need to reach out to others through making and sharing art. This film was shown in a new outside installation in the Scottish Borders village of Heriot, where I am from. Passers-by could come and share our work whilst socially distanced, that they might feel a sense of connection and peace from our words and images.
This song is available for download, along with the rest of the EP when you sign up Kirsty’s Patreon page which we urge you to do so. Every month Kirsty is releasing a new single in her Unaccompanied Song Series, as well as bi-monthly EPs in the ‘At Home’ EP series, of which this is the first!
