Orange Nights is the latest single from Ardentjohn, taken from their Malin Head album which we reviewed here. The album was described as arriving during a significant period in their lives – exposing them to the many soaring highs and searing lows of adult life.
As Bob Fish said in his review, there is hope amidst the heartbreak in equal measure and all of this carries over to into the new video for Orange Nights (out tomorrow – 24 July). Maybe as a result of us all experiencing some form of longing during lockdown, it’s difficult to not be moved by the accompanying video. It’s not short on tenderness, warmth, joy and fun.
They tell us:
From jumping out of a plane to dancing in the kitchen, the video to Ardentjohn’s new release Orange Nights helped bring us all together in an unusual time.
The concept began with the simple idea of piecing together footage of family, friends and fans all over the world. But as everyone retreated into lockdown, the results took some unexpected diversions.
Orange Nights is the song that brought the band together many moons ago. Its upbeat melody and optimism shine through in this eclectic mix of dancing, singing and home work-out eccentricity.
It was the perfect antidote for everyone who took part. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
