The Waterboys continue the build-up to the release of their new album ‘Good Luck, Seeker‘ (21 August) revealing their video for the folk ballad Low Down in the Broom. The fast-paced guitar puts me in mind of a version by James Yorkston and The Big Eyes Family Players from their Folk Songs album which gallops along at a fair pace. As with the last video (Soul Singer), we are also soon treated to some psychedelic visuals.
The video finale is cleverly orchestrated with a little twist. The video looks to be set in a bygone era, but as she carries on running, she eventually ends up in a modern-day street where a wall is graffitied “Let me dream…”. Great stuff.
