We recently shared the news that BURIERS frontman James P Honey’s is releasing his new EP ‘underneath a sulking sky’ on 12th June. Ahead of the release, he shared a video for Father, and today he is releasing ‘Ocean’ which is again accompanied by a video by Pascal Boudet.
Boudet also made the intimate mini-documentary portrayal of Honey in ‘Strong As a Storm (We Grew Together)‘. As with his video for Father, Boudet again demonstrates a love of portraiture – those personal everyday moments that he captures over Honey’s lyrics deliver a far greater impact than you can imagine… Watching him shave as he sings:
there’s an ocean inside me
that my friends can’t see
and cold is the giant
and vast are its waves
is evidence that with the aid of great photography, some of the most simple gestures deliver can deliver the most powerful impression and response.
The new single is available to download for free on Bandcamp here.
LYRICS
there’s an ocean inside me
that my friends can’t see
and cold is the giant
and vast are its waves
they say a blue sky’s dawning
and the grass is greener
and this shall all
and this shall also pass
the romance… why worry
the tail wags the hound

“The record was due for release on BURIERS HQ as a limited vinyl to be sold on Honey’s – now thoroughly cancelled – tour. So rather than hang around bored and waiting we decided to give it away to you for free.
“When the world sets to turning again we’ll see you face to face and more likely than not holding the freshly pressed 10″. ”
